    Lovely swim. Lake is nice.

Bike has a decently steep climb on the 2nd km for about 300-400m. Rest of the roads are rolling. Surface is a little rough in parts which will slow you down slightly. There is one absolute beast of a climb on the way home. Its the first left after the cafe as you leave Laragh heading towards Roundwood.

Its about 1km and you will be in your granny gear for all of it.

Run is ok, if you like running on roads. Nothing of note about it.

Its not hard except for the 2nd climb on the bike. Like climbing a wall.

Ehh, unless they've changed the route, the first 1.5km on the run is a nightmare...up the same first hill as the bike.

I did athy this year in 2:09 as 23:30/1:04/39:10

Did BotE last year in 2:26 as 29:40/1:13/42:30

I'm much stronger this year, particularly in the water.

The Beast bike course is only about 38km, but hilly. I'm probably exaggerating the hill as its ages since I was down there, but it wouldn't be far off Hook or by Crook

Parking is usually fine as it is a relatively small field.

Speaking of fields, the parking is in one, so if it is pi$$ing rain, it is fun getting out of it...

Parking is usually in the first field on the right at the bottom of the first hill. In early, get a spot down the back near the gate if possible to avoid getting stuck if its raining.

Don't forget your insect repellent (thanks for the reminder BTH) and here's a video of the cycle for your enjoyment. If I remember correctly the last descent is neutralised and there is no overtaking on it. (Must read briefing!)

If it's pissing rain I'll have to scab a lift. I have trouble driving and cycling on dry ground never mind when it's wet. :(
