    Hello all,
Does anyone know where I could get wind deflectors for an 06 Toyota Corolla? Local car shop can't find them on Halfords website) says €60 for the pair (only want them for the front windows), but would like them cheaper than that if possible.

Only place to get them is Toyota dealer, as in, the ones you get in a motor factors don't work on cars that have the auto up and down feature as the Irish models have,

The toyota ones stick onto the window frame as opposed to being jammed into the rubbers,

Grand. I know a Toyota dealer out by Lucan; will pop over to them and check the price.

Just did on the toyota website, €80.65 for a front pair:eek:, even i was surprised, i knew main dealers prices were through the roof but thats crazy.

Had a look on micksgarage.ie, who are very good, ordered from them a few times and never had a problem (i dont work for them)lol, and they are much cheaper.

Aye. My local dealer was the same.

Although they do seem cheaper, I'd wonder what colm_mcm meant when he said

Had the ones that were jammed into the rubbers on my Honda Civic, and found that the windows would get kinda stuck up near the top. I'm thinking that the ones I'd get from my local car shop will be the same as the ones I'd be getting one from Micks garage.

I think I'll pop over to the dealership, and ask what's the benefit of the special ones.

    They're a pretty common feature on Toyota's.

Next time have a good look. They are mounted ONTO the frame instead of being jammed up into the rubber.

The window and seals are not really designed for this extra bit of plastic and that's why they don't really work well.

80 quid though for wind deflectors...... I'm sure somebody with them has written off their car at some stage. Check partfinder.

Corollas from 02 to 07 have an auto up and down function (you'll see ALL AUTO on the drivers door) this means they need an anti-choke mechanism in case anything like a head or an arm gets caught on the way up.

Problem is that when the window hits the wind deflector, it rolls back down again.

    Same on the 03-09 Avensis.

Some markets like asia don't have this function so these deflectors that are jammed in will do fine in this case. On the European spec, you need the ones that stick on the outside.

It's not THAT big a deal. I've after market deflectors on my Passat and sure, occasionally (by no means every time) when I close the driver's side window it trips the mechanism and rolls back down half-way............. so I just hold the close button and it works every time. Extra 5 seconds max

Why put your window motors and regs under pressure and go to all that hassle for the sake of saving a few quid on buying them?

I'd hold off until Bubble Wrap gets his staff discount from halfords :d.

€60 in a motor factor for a pair would be about right. As for the ones in the rubber, I have used these on my car and the better halves for a few years now, hasn't caused any problems on the window regulator, Ok the window does bounce back a few times, but nothing to get mad about.
