I used my computer this morning and everything was ok. I went to use it this evening and when I clicked on the start icon nothing happened. Now I can neither switch on or shut down my computer. Anybody know what the problem might be

It sounds like your power supply might need to be replaced.

    The description is unclear.
Is the computer screen displaying the windows screen?

Is the problem that you're clicking with the mouse or press the start button on the keyboard but nothing is happening on the screen?

Does pressing Ctrl-Alt-Delete have any effect?

Or is the problem that there is nothing being displayed on the monitor, nor any power lights on the computer or keyboard?

How do you make that out ? It's sounds like a frozen PC, nothing more

Press and hold power button until PC shuts down, then try and restart and see if you get any errors, post them here and we'll take it from there.

Unplug everything from the wall sockets for 5 mins, then plug them back in again and try starting the pc.
