Golf Lessons - Mid West

    Hi Guys,

I'm just looking for some recommendations on where or who best to get golf lessons from in around the Limerick/Tipp/Clare area. I've always wanted to play golf and figure I better start off right and get some lessons. Its fairly safe to say I'm very much a beginner, I've been to a driving range once or twice a few years ago but really only went for the craic and not to prefect my swing!

I want to do this right and figure if I'm going to spend money on clubs etc, I want to enjoy the game and can only do that if I can actually hit the ball properly! I'm looking more for individual lessons as opposed to group ones!!

Mods I wasn't sure to post here or in a regional forum so move it if you feel necessary.

    Thanks in advance!
    T

Last time i looked at a map westmeath / roscommon / offaly were in the midlands!! Do you mean mid-west?!!! I can change the thread title for you if you want?

I'm not sure if Shane Madden is still giving lessons in Athlone Golf Academy but if its midlands you are looking for I could highly recommend him.

Shane is out of the country at present setting up a school in the states, but the assistant there, Ian is teaching and by all accounts is very good.

The Professional ( Kevin Greally ) and Assistant ( Hugh Feeney ) get very good reviews. I went to Hugh myself a couple of times and as I'm sure CharlieIRL could tell you, it has paid off big time! :D

I thought he was back, maybe not.

Whatever you done has certainly paid off alright!!!

David foley at dromoland castle is fantastic and has all the mod cons there too to help you analyse your game. Highly recommend him

Had a look at this website. Seems to be all indoor based, would this matter? Or would I be better for getting lesson in the field as such!!
