So i given up trying to keep plants for longer than a few weeks. They never last.:o Bar Homestore and More or Dunnes has anyone seen decent looking, large/tall fake plants that would fit the bill?

Do they have tall ones...that resemble spider plants or palms and look realistic?

Wow ! You have to pretty good as a plant murderer as a 'real' spider plant is almost indestructable. :D

Just in case you ever get a real life plant again, don't over-water them, ie leave the soil to dry out in between watering and then give them a hefty quantity of water once every 2 to 3 weeks depending, in stead of a trickle every other day.:)

Well add my cat in to the mix, who thinks anything with leaves is a giant game of "shred it beyond oblivion" then you'll understand why nothing lasts more than a month or two in my house :D

Googling some companies who sell fake plants, they're mega expensive. I suppose they'll last years and thats the point but to get 3 nice tall spider plants you're taking €300+ at a minimum

    Ikea for the win here.

They sell large fake plants up to 6 feet tall,in pots.:)

Its easy to keep indoor palms and other plants. All it takes is some water, some heat/humidity and a good misting of the leaves on a regular basis.Pot them into bigger pots as they grow.

    Simples.

You can also buy "hare" guards for the plants.

These are plastic sheets that roll around the bottom of a tree or plant, and it prevents rabbits and hardes from destroying them.

Great for detering the cat from shredding the plants too.

I was in ikea last week and saw lots of lovely tall plants, didn't check to see what was real and what was fake though. Their website might have more info.

Ikea have several types of tall fake plants in black and also brown pots too.

They are downstairs in the plants and pots section, and also some for sale down by the checkout area too.

    Realistic enough,I suppose.:)
