Hi i have an opticum 7500 receiver but its broken.
I have recently bought one of the new Samsung tv that has saorview built into it.
Would i be able to take the wire from the opticum receiver and put it straight into the tv so i can watch the channels through my tv and not using the satellite receiver at all

Unfortunately not. The sat box has DVB-S tuner and your TV has a DVB-T tuner.

OP, I was going to say that based on your user name you sound like a bit of a bollix but perhaps this isn't the place. Maybe you're just slightly nutty. :D Apologies, couldn't resist.

To answer your question no that is not possible.

Saorview works via a TV aerial NOT a dish.

The 7500 works from a dish NOT a TV aerial.

If you want to watch satellite channels on a Saorview TV then you need a seperate Satellite box. You could watch the Irish channels only on the TV if you connect a TV aerial

My Samsung has both FTV Terrestrial & Satellite tuners built into to it....
