Rib injury

Hello , I got a rib injury while sparring and got the x-rays , blood tests etc and it all seemed fine. I got the assembly line health care routine and the doctor didn't really want to know about other symptoms that I voiced. I have been getting extreme bloating and pressure under my left ribcage and I'm wondering should I go back in again and spend another €100 and six hours waiting to be sent home with pain killers again?.

Well why are you going to A&E when it's not an emergency? You can always go to your doctor. You've only got bruised ribs like.

in before the lock for asking for medical advice anyway

I broke two ribs about 8 weeks ago at this stage and I was completely unable to move for the first week. My doctor told me that there was basically no point in getting xrays as it was a clear break and they would only have just told me to take it easy. I didn't get prescribed painkillers and was just told to take over the counter painkillers regularly. I can't give medical advise but from experience it's going to be incredibly painful and you better hope you don't get a cold like I did, because sneezing will become something you will be very afraid of doing.

In short, if you've already been to the doctor and they came to the conclusion that your lungs weren't punctured, all they're going to do is run the tests again and tell you to take it easy for 6 weeks. Get well soon.

Why is it when you post something on boards.ie or the internet in general there's always some naysayer who has to try and drag you down?. Why are you clogging up A & E? , you can't keep that animal as a pet , why do you want that beer in bottles , can you not just drink from a can or pour into a glass like everyone else etc , etc. I went into A & E on a Sunday having not been able to eat a full meal in about a week due to bloating and pain. A doc would have just referrred me to A & E anyway. I was well within my rights to go to an A & E.

I ended up going to an alternative practitioner who found that because of the swelling and compression on the nerves my stomach was bloating and pressing against my ribcage and they relieved it with some massage and herbs.
