I don't think you will find any home printer that will print 300gsm card, or anywhere near it.

Thanks...I was being a bit hopeful..Would you recommend any printer for home use ,that would print at least 160gsm
    Thanks

I used to have a large laser printer that would just take 160gsm, on a fine day with the wind behind it, and even then it would leave ink smudges on the reverse. I used to make wedding and greetings cards, but I had to find work arounds by doing the printing onto paper inserts etc.

I tried a hairdryer too , but to no avail .

You will find it difficult to source a printer to take any more than 220gsm , and for under €500 .. no chance

If you are only printing one-sided posters , it may work , but forget about re-inserting the card for other side .

You could try printing your poster on A4 and bring it to your local printers and they can enlarge it to A3 size .

Or just bring the file straight to them, and they'll print it from there

Are you sure you need 300gsm paper?! Might as well be spray painting it onto the side of a tree!

    I've come across this printer

    http://www.ricoh.ie/products/printers/colour/aficiogx-e7700n.aspx?view=specification

It's an inkjet and will do up to 256gsm. It's colour and A3 and it claims to be cheaper than a laser to run. Might be a bit over your €500 budget.
