    Looking forward to French tomorrow. :D Hopefully I'm not disappointed.

    Just a quick question though, I'm learning a bit of vocab for the formal letter, just in case it comes up on it's own, and I want to know, can you sign off using "Sincèrement" or do you have to use "Dans l’attente de votre réponse, je vous prie d’agréer, Monsieur, l’expression de mes salutations distinguées."?

    Thanks in advance. :) Hopefully it won't come up, but I don't want to take any chances. :p

    The odds of it coming up on its own are next to none, so I wouldn't worry too much. But by all means there's no harm in learning it.

    To answer your question I doubt there'd be much marks in it but try and use the second one if you can, your trying to impress the examiner so its best to be as formal as possible.

    Thanks very much! :D I'll learn the second one. Yeah, I know it's unlikely to come up, but I really don't want to take a chance on something that I could prepare for. :p Possible traces of OCD perhaps. :p Thanks again.

    A good finishing sentence (before amities, or however you sign off), is "J'attends avec impatience ta lettre". It means I'm waiting with impatience for your letter.

    If it does come up normally there is the choice between that or informal letter. Cruel if they only put a formal letter on the paper. :mad: I haven't even studied formal letters, i dont think we even covered it in school.

    Don't stress out over it, if it does come up it will come up accompanied by an informal letter, with a choice between the two. I haven't even looked at the informal because there's no point, in my opinion anyway.

    I'm surprised that the formal letter came up! There was nothing too difficult on it, I did well but I wish I'd done better.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 61 ✭✭iWin1010

    WOW that was really easy. I can't believe I was stressing about it.
    I actually think I might get an A! :eek::eek::eek::)

    Great paper! I think it was even easier than the one in our mocks. There wasn't anything too difficult in the paper. And the informal letter came up! :D Still glad I studied the formal letter though. :p

    It could possibly come up on its own, It even says it in the Edco exam papers.

    That was sooooo easy. Studied for 2.5 hrs dis morning and 1.5hrs last night. Guaranteed A

    I thought that was a very fair test. Wasn't expecting the post card, but actually rather it to the note. Would've been worse if you were expecting a post card and the note came up.

    I thought the listening was very easy, only missed a few tiny things. The comprehensions were also very nice and I was done them within 20-30 minutes. The letter was also very good; I'm sure my grammar wasn't very good as it's not a strong point of mine but oh well :')

    I had the stop the listening to get the volume turned up lol :o
