Plenty of clubs would love to have you. You'd be looking at clubs which play in the j5 or + j4 league. Local to you would be Barnhall, St Marys and a number of others

Plenty of clubs would love to have you down and would happily accommodate your level of fitness and ability whatever they may be. Out your neck of the woods would be Tallaght RFC or Clondalkin RFC both which are small junior clubs. If you're looking for a slightly larger club with a good set up, you could do much worse than speak with Naas RFC also.

Here's a link to Leinster's handbook which contains a directory of clubs in Leinster including all contact details and locations.

Best thing to do is identify the clubs in your area, speak with them, see where you feel most comfortable and go for it. Best of luck.

Clondalkin have a great set-up at J4 J5 level and they're on your doorstep. You needn't go anywhere else! Great bunch of lads too. Always a pleasure to play against them!

Hi, first off, I play for tallaght so I'm obviously biased. Just to get that out in the open! We're always on the lookout for new players, especially those who have never played before. As said above, we're a small club (one of the smallest I know of!) but growing year on year. Being so small, we are always very welcoming of anyone who takes an interest in playing with us. Our tag rugby league is running at the moment and we usually use this to pick up a few guys who have an interest but are a bit wary of going out training and not knowing anything at all about the game. At least this way, they learn the basics of attack and defense, and can add on the contact skills in pre-season.

We always have a group of complete beginners at pre-season, so you won't be alone. Depending on what position you end up in, there'll always be someone to help you out or answer questions (no matter how stupid you think the questions are...they're not!).

Basically, we're a friendly bunch of guys (and girls - we have a ladies' team too!) who'll do our best to help you out. If you're interested in coming up to say hello, or maybe even get a run, on one of the tag nights, drop me a PM. Teams are sometimes short of players with holidays etc. Other than that, I'm not sure when pre-season is starting.

I have to agree with Massey there, I just started playing rugby last season and went to up Tallaght and they welcomed me with open arms.
