You do realise that only around 20% of people who sit the exam get an A?

98% in the mocks, b*tches. How was I supposed to know who Joan Burton was anyways.

Seriously, all you need to do is bull****. Avoid political questions if you don't understand it, do an extra question if you have time, make sure you colour inside the lines of your poster, easy.

And yeah, they have to keep the same level of a's as other subjects. So they will try and bring you down if they can.

....Oh I just noticed your winky face. Sarcasm, I get it. Oh well, my advice still stands.

As a Leaving Cert I would advise you not to worry about this at all ! Matching pictures, drawing posters be grand lads

Yeah, but it's not like the other 80% do terribly.

Just don't take it for granted.. Wouldn't you feel like an idiot if you ended up with with a low C?

It's not as easy to get an A in CSPE as everyone thinks.

I know when I did the Junior Cert, I only got a B. I think only one or two out of my class of 30 got an A, and that was the "top" class.

Relax and enjoy it though. It's the easiest exam you'll get. ;)

CSPE teacher, vast majority of my students come out with A's. Here are the protips:

    1. The poster is not an art exam. If you scored badly its because you saw the word poster, drew it and ignored what you asked to put in it. Its very specific (e.g. include a slogan encouraging people to attend a meeting about X or donate to X). Same with letters, speeches etc you are told what to put it, students who do badly ignore this. Put these in and you will get the marks.

    2. When asked for suggestions on action projects be very specific. A lot of students put down 'have a fundraiser' but you have to state specifically what you would do to raise money.

    3. Picture questions are a small number of marks. I have a feeling European heads of state / prime ministers may come up as they were in the news a lot (Angela Merkel etc). Old reliables - know all the party leaders, main ministers, UN Sec General, EU Commission pres etc.

Goes without saying of course that the Action Project will make or break your result - the exam is only 40% of your final grade!

Confused as to the 1/10 marks statement. Section 3 questions are worth 20 overall, posters are usually worth 6 (possibly 8).

We practiced writing out the action project over 10 times I'd say. We all got it nearly perfect, so I'll be expecting an A.

As long as what you practiced was good.

What was in the headlines politically over the past year? Quick google.

Pictures of political figure-heads of the day.

Now, I'm not trying to act like a smartass or anything of that nature. But no. I would not feel like an idiot.
I'd feel like an idiot for doing badly in the important ones. I know CSPE is a state exam and all that ol' stuff, but it's not that important. In my opinion anyway.

I know that I may b an exception but I left the exam after half an hour and got an a . I wouldn't advise it though !
