javascript bookmarks for adobe reader safe?

    Would it be safe to use the javascript mentioned here as pdfhack to make bookmarks in adobbe reader. Is java a security risk

    JavaScript != (does not equal :P ) Java. JavaScript can be considered a security risk, but it would usually be Java vulnerabilities you hear about the most. I doubt, in this instance it would be a security risk, I'm sure Adobe Reader does do some sandboxing so that scripts will only run internally of the program, and the fact your downloading the script from what is a reputable tech tutorial site I'd say go for it

    Thanks. I do not really understand Java script/java difference:o:o. Oh I see now. I should have written is javascript a security risk. I had read this before posting but did not know enough to risk it

    I think you are correct that reader does sandboxing

    No worries, many confuse the two as they sound the same. Funnily enough both languages are of no relation to each other :o and totally different.

    aparently javascipt was previously called livescript and in a marketing agreement with sun it changed its name to javascript
