Jeasus, that's a bit far. What's wrong with a week in ballybunion?

Been to Ballybunion and done that, also Portugal, Spain, France, Scotland, Wales, Thailand, America and England. We love golf and it is a great way to enjoy travel.

Best of luck with it. Would be interested to hear your feedback on where you go - golf is growing massively over there, but there aren't that many courses.

All I know is that Royal Calcutta Golf Club is the oldest golf club in India (1829) and the first to be developed outside Great Britain. Start from there!

    FYP.

Why not spend the money going to the USA rather than India, plenty of great golf courses there and alot less cholera.

Not sure would there be many course. Think if i was going to go somewhere different then it would be China, i think there are 12 courses in the Mission Hills development.

I've played India, albeit not in the best course in the country. Wouldn't be a fan unless you're planning on going somewhere to the best best courses and staying in the best hotels.

Caddy was a barefoot lazy young lad and they had other young lads stationed 'in' the water hazards to retrieve the balls for you if you happened to go in.

Whose idea was it to choose India - that's off the wall for a golf holiday.

Since you're going in Jan 2012, why don't you travel to South Africa instead. Never been to the country but I hear they have great golf courses and weather should be fantastic that time of year also.

Yes I think it is a bit of the wall all right, we thought it might be a good location
for a new place to visit. The more we think about it and investigate it, the less appealing it seems to be. We will look at south africa and see how it pans out.
    Thanks for all the help.

I'd second the South Africa suggestion.
I played a good few along the garden route last year and its great golf and even though forginers are charged double its still great value.

Want to go back and play here. http://www.pinnaclepointestate.co.za/htm/golf.html

It was booked out when we passed by.

Humewood was also a good links.Had a drunk caddie and a serious lightning storm..fun golf!
