Bedroom colour scheme advice

Could anyone help me with a colour scheme for our bedroom. It's south facing & the windows are painted racing green so it needs to be something that will go with the window frame. I was thinking of mink or grey or mink/petrol blue but don't think any of those wil go with racing green? Any advice would be welcome as Hickey's have a sale on at the moment and it would be great to order the blinds while they're on sale.

Ouch ! That is a difficult colour to work into any contemporary colour scheme. So the only suggestion I can come up with is to keep it fresh with whites and/or creams.
But I guess that is not really something you wanted to read. :p
Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Why must the windows be green? IMHO start a fresh, windows and all

Greens and greys can work very well together.I have green, grey and red in my kitchen/dining area and grey and wine-ish colour in the maaster bedroom with custom made grey curtains (did the painting and curtain poles ourelves).

If you paint all the internal window and door reveals white, then that gives you a bigger sense of space too.:)

    Just my 2 cents worth.

Get a few paint colour sampler tins for around 2 euro 50 cents each.

Paint a few A4 sheets with the various paint colours and blu-tak them onto the various walls.

Look at them in both natural daylight/sunlight and also under darkness with the room light on.

Then you can see what you like, and what you dont like.

They possibly have UPVC windows already coloured in the factory.

I agree that greys and greens can work well. However, racing green is notoriously difficult to combine with the contemporary muted colours that are so in vogue right now.
The green on your walls is an entirely different green (almost muted green itself) so grey would work with your green.

Racing green works with yellows, oranges and reds, but these combinations are so not this decade. :)

Its an "earthy green" as my girlfriend calls it.:D

She chose it to lead the eye out to the back garden and the plants and flowers.Shes a horticulturalist by trade,so she mad into different colours in the garden and in the house too.

Sure thats a woman for you.:pac::pac::D.

But it seems that you might be right about racing green though.;):)

@BryanF - Your post was totally irrelevant to the topic and I don't like its content, its an attack on a very regular and helpful poster, so please refrain from this level of attack.

I won't be warning you again.

Oh and the likes of Hickeys and HomeFocus will also sell you small roller blind fabric samples and curtain fabric samples too,for not alot of euros.

Take home the samples and put them up against the A4 painted sheets and also against your windows.
Then you can see how everything will look together.
Thats what we did when choosing the paint colours and also the fabric and colour for the curtains too.

Everyone has a different way of doing things, thats just life in general.;):)

But we found that doing the above mentioned and shown (pictures) this saved us alot of hassle and possibly wasted money,in that we didnt go and buy all the paint and a set of curtains and wooden blinds, and then think that we didnt like it.

Spend a few euro on the paint sampler pots, wooden blind/roller blind samples and the curtain fabric samples, and this will save you alot of future needless hassle and wasted money.

HomeFocus recently had a 20% off sale on all curtain poles and custom made curtains (think the sale is still on).

We haggled like mad with them and got a very good deal (30%) for all the poles (9 in total) and the blackout curtains all in.

We found Homefocus in Coolock very easy to deal with and the staff could not have been more helpfull to us.
They had the curtains made for us in a week,so we were and are very happy with them.
And they only asked for a 25% deposit upfront too.

PS-They also sell adjustable curtain pole brackets seperately too.You can bring the curtain pole closer to the wall or further out,to suit your needs.

    Regards.:)
