What time do they expect him in Paris?;)

Best of luck Anto! Apropos of nothing, here's a great painting "Nightfishing in Antibes"

Because people running for 48 hrs are so upright and renowned for their vertical bilateral symmetry? You of all people, Jeff, you of all people...

I don't get symbolism, but words I do. So now I get ya. :)

But back on topic, run fatboy, run!

I see he has just snuck into the top 10 :D
There is a little option above the live feed to send messages to the runners. Anto is 188, let's get sending. I am sure they will be appreciated.

It is indeed, I just spotted a Donadea 50km t shirt I think, support crew supreme I guess, it was through the shot too quickly for me to make the face out.

And there's no way Anto would move that fast unless they have a beer on a string dangling in front of him. :)

Just spotted Aimann in a Donadea shirt, he's crewing for Anto.
Blimey, it's windy there! I hope it doesn't affect him too much.

145.5km at half way for 7th place.

I can't see anything in the live feed because Eamonn is standing right in front of the camera, talking on his mobile, blocking the view!

Anto, on the other hand, is doing gobsmackingly well.

5th, although its unclear whether its still going on or not (video wasn't showing runners when I looked). Fabulous performance by Anto. Theres a link on the Antibes site to give encouragement (or abuse :)) to Anto.

Somebody tell the annoying guy in the stripy t-shirt to get out of the way of the camera. The girl in the red t-shirt can stay.
Ultraman still looking solid in 5th overall (4th runner), with just(?) over four hours to go.

Looks like 253.175km all told, 5th place. Good luck to anyone trying to find a beer in Antibes tonight.

4th runner. Fantastic performance from a real ultraman.

Finally away from the campsite, charged the phone in the hotel and it has WiFi :D

There were two standards of race in the 3 events, Running or Walking, so there were 6 races all happening at the same time. The daytime sun and heat made it difficult for everyone but Anto seems to have Nocternal instincts and did some of his best running between 12 and 4 in the morning. I'll leave Anto the honour of giving you the details in his report, but it was great to work as a team with Anto and his Dad, studying the other runners form, pace and condition and watch Anto work on each runner ahead of him gradually knocking them off one by one and wearing them down. On the first midnight special, he shot up the ranks into single digit placings and on the second night, he did a spectacular job of taking on two guys, Eric and Raoul to take fourth position with enough coushion to sleep for a couple of hours and not lose 4th.

He's been warned not to do too much jumping aroud tonight each time Ireland scores against Croatia

Looking at the persistance and dedication of the 48h, 72h and 6 day runners, I don't think I could consider myself an untra runner in their eyes. All ages, All weights and all shapes and sizes and they could still shake it on the dancefloor last night. Legends

Well done to Anto, it was a great experience crewing for him and he had a spectacular last hour pushing out the goal posts.
