According to a German paper tonights race in Olso was the Ethiopian trials for the 5k

    Results are as follows:
    Gebremeskel
    Gebrhiwet
    Merga
    T Bekele
    K Bekele
    Kipsiro
    Sihine

This means either K Bekele or S Sihine will not make the team for the Olympics as neither were top two in Hengelo either

I'd have a feeling that he'll be given one more race.

Doubt it I can see him focus on the 10k (IMO see what price you can get him for gold as I am tipping him to win which people will prob think I am crazy especially with Farah but trust me worth a punt)

"In the men's 5000m, world record holder and Olympic champion Kenenisa Bekele mulling his options among the pack at the moment in 12th place with two laps remaining. Bekele will of course want to underline his Olympic credentials after he was beaten by Mo Farah, who triumphed in 12 min 56.98 secs last weekend................Holy mackerel - what a finish! Tariku Bekele led with one lap remaining, but Ethiopia's Gebremeskel was lurking on his shoulder and made his move with 200m remaining to secure victory in 12:58.92. The Ethiopian staved off the challenge of onrushing compatriot Hagos Gebrhiwet. Kenenisa Bekele, by the way, crossed the line in fifth to complete an Ethiopian top five ............ We usually see Bekele right at the front, dictating races and showing why he is the best distance runner in the world. He's obviously missed training and is struggling a little, including the hardness of the track, but he's built his own track to get back into shape. He's serious about getting ready for the London Olympics."

It may have been a trial, but that doesn't mean the selectors are obliged to pick the first 3.

I'd say Bekele snr will be selected if he decides he wants to double.

Yep I'd agree with you still a good bet, if he has only done 2-3 session. I'd just think that if he wanted to run the 5k also he's be given one more race. But the 5k might not be his target.

He hardly went back to Ethiopia after Prefontaine?

Think this was before which understandable given similar time in both races (though this was a much better performance)

Yes I agree, especially with the more erratic pacing in tonight's race
