I need to get my wisdom teeth out.
Does anyone know how to find the list of oral surgeons that are fully covered under the VHI on their website.
They say its possible but i can't find it for the life of me!

or can someone recommend me a good oral surgeon that is fully vhi registered and preferablly exempt from pre-certification?

    heya!

Im literally just after getting my wisdom teeth done today and the oral surgeon was fantastic and is exempt from pre-certification. I was 98% covered with vhi ( i had to pay €125 out of the total €1500 cost) I got it done in <snip no names>not sure what part of the country you're in but it'd be worth travelling to limerick for...the care was outstanding! :-D

Other than that I'd recommended finding an oral surgeon in a private hospital near you and then give vhi a call with their name and they can tell you straight away if they are exempt etc :-D

    Hope this helps!

Ended up getting wisdom teeth out by a specialist dentist in sandyford yesterday based on an enthusiastic recommendation I got from a friend.
He did an excellent job. Sat me down and explained the options first and ended up having to get all four wisdom teeth out. One of the bottom ones was a complicated job based on the direction of the tooth and the fact that it was quite close to a nerve.
Got iv sedation and didn't feel a thing. I was knocked out for a good bit but even for the drowsy part that i can remember I couldn't feel anything.
Was a little sore today and had slight swelling but was able to return to work no problem. (was expecting it to be alot worse!)
I won't mention his name because i know the mods don't allow it but if anyone is interested they can pm me for more info.
