She was home from California on holidays and got papped by a van doing harmless kms over the speed limit in 100kmh zone.

The fine has arrived here in my name so i need to resend it to her in CA USA which is fine, only problem is she's lost her US licence card so doesn't have the number to write on the form when sending it bac...
She said it will take a day queuing a the DMV to have it reissued, she has two kids so i would like to save her the hassle if possible.

Does the system have any way of checking the actual CA licence number that is sent back?

I was behind a woman in the Garda station the other week who was transferring a fine to her daughter who was over from South Africa and the Garda on the desk seemed able to sort her out without requiring the driver license number (the woman didn't even know her daughter's date of birth!). So probably worth calling in and explaining the situation.

OP fill out her details and post it back. They will sent it on to her. If she does come back to Ireland to live she can worry about it then. Not like the will have her dragged home for that.

I presume you're just talking about leaving it blank...but in case I'm wrong and you're talking about writing down any old number - don't do that. Chance you arm leaving it blank by all means.

Her insurance company has her license #...she might be able to talk them into giving it to her over the phone.

To be honest, I would imagine they are more concerned with getting the fine paid than they are with who was actually driving....:)
