The rest really is just filler :p

Really? I've only seen Cashman fight once and that was against the bould Wally. I'd rate him highly after seeing that one though. I'd expect a close fight there.

Darren is my trainer and he is in absolute tip top shape at the moment. I have only seen NG fight once so really cannot comment on him. Obviosuly I hope Darren wins and hope its a belting effort.

I've seen Darren fighting a few times and for me he is not as good as Rob. Rob is a far better technician and i expect him to beat Darren comfortably on points, saying that Darren is tough as they come and anything can happen an elbow can finish a fight in an instant.

Just came from weigh in everyone bang on weight, this show is going to be explosive.

Great night of fights. No real bad fights and plenty to talk about.

McCallig was a beast against Dave O Brien. An incredible performance.

I feel Andy Howson was robbed by a home town decision. Great fight though and congrats to Aaron O Callaghan.

Darren Cashman beat Robert NG. I would like to see the judges scorecards on it. I think Darren definitely won, but would be interested to see how crucial NGs docked point was.

Only down point of the night was the bar ran out of booze at about 9.30!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30 seamus cogan

gimmick its worth mentioning that Martin brings overs 3 english judges and an english referee to ensure there is no home town decisions. Darren Phillips and Chris podesta are the best in the business, Aaron scored an awful lot of kicks to the body a much higher score than Andy's leg kicking
The show was incredible Liam Harrison was a monster and Anthony Kane done what Saiyok couldnt do, stopping Craig Jose.
From my own camp (Spartan ballincollig) I'm really proud of young Dommie Kelly rnd 2 tko and Barry O Connors win over Dagan Vickers was pure class

Fair point re the kicks Seamus. I'm delighted Aaron won, don't get me wrong.

NG received a few warnings for tripping I think. Then there was one too many.

Some roar for both Aaron and Darren's wins.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 102 ✭✭Tweedle Dumb

looked like he got docked for tripping, could be wrong had a good few in me at that stage.
The bar only had a licence til 10 anyway.

Very good fight night. few decisions i question, seemed to favour the home crowd. Not saying anything untoward but just swayed by the large support perhaps?

Anthony Kane looked impressive against Jose. Harrison was lethal. shame it was over so quickly. Brilliant Night, already looking forward to the next one.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,674 ✭✭✭Peetrik

Great night of fights, I suppose Howson took a gamble working the leg kicks instead of going for the body but he was definitely showing effect with it, as in I was sure he was going to stop Aaron for the first 3 rounds. That said Aaron showed the heart of a lion to take the 4th and come out hell for leather in the last round, fair play to him as I for one didn't give him much of a chance against Howson when I heard the match up.

I was really impressed with Salmon Wickstead, had never seen him fight before but he looked properly dangerous.

Someone remind me to bring a cushion with me next time though, those neptune seats, yikes.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 194 ✭✭DTB

Solomon wickstead what a talent and only 16 years old.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,674 ✭✭✭Peetrik

He's only 16?! Madness. I've no doubt I'll be hearing that name a lot in the future.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 215 ✭✭martinh

Few days after show I've managed recover ,show was another big crowd pleaser and a massive atmosphere all night long from start to finish.
Some cracking fights stoppages and knockouts.
Thanks to all the Irish gyms for the support ,and to the English ,Dutch and Italian teams.
Also to Darren ,Chris and team ENGLISH team of TOP officals for a busy night of work.

On side note well done to all my own gym with 10 out 11 wins and nice few stoppages vs some of the most experienced Irish and international fighters they could have been matched with,3 new titles at the gym.
