Last-minute holidays

Sorry if this has been asked before but I couldn't find a thread that answered my specific questions.

Boyfriend and I have a few days off at the start August and we're planning to not book anything until shortly beforehand and just see what last-minute sun holiday bargains we could snap up. I'm just wondering has anyone done this for August, and what were the prices like?

I'm looking around now and if we were travelling next week, we could get a week in Gran Canaria, flights and hotel, for just shy of €400 each. Trying to find anything now for August just throws up far pricier options. I know the idea of last-minute holidays is that they cut the price just to fill seats, etc. But Im wondering how much they might be - I've never done the whole last-minute package holiday thing so if anyone has any ideas that'd be great. Cheers.

A couple of years ago I got a week in corfu for 220 euro with budget travel, flights and accomodation, airport transfer etc. it was great!! think it was june/july that we went.

Recently though I havent seen deals as good as that. But I would expect to pay around 350-400 each, maybe even less if you really dont care where your flying to! anything less is a bonus

That's great, thanks. Yeah we're willing to go anywhere at the drop of a hat. I hadn't thought to look at Budget Travel, I'll keep an eye out.
