Kia iPod cable wont fit my Ceed

    Hi all,

I bought a '10 Ceed SW and realised when we got home that the standard Apple iPod cable doesn't work properly with the USB/Aux hub.

I rang the dealer and he posted me out the Kia branded iPod connector.

However, it physically will not fit into the hub in my car. The usb plug and jack plug on the lead don't align with the sockets on the hub. (see attached pic)

Is there a chance that the ceed sw requires a specific lead and that perhaps I was sent the lead for a different Kia model?

    Robbie.

USB is USB and all iPod/iPad connections are the same. Odd that it doesn't work. Maybe you need to change the car;)

Edit: Just looked at your picture and the jack along with the USB is not standard. Best to contact your dealer.

looks like a similar set up the bmw/minis?

best bet is separate the usb part and the mini audio jack and see what happens?

did the dealer charge for the connector?

There are 3 different types of iPod cable for a ceed.

The dealer didn't charge in fairness to him and it's the exact same lead as for the Hyundai i30. The other end fit's the iPod perfectly (it's a standard connection) just the end that plugs into the car does not line up with the jack and usb inputs.

Below is the bag off the lead with it's serial no.

hi I bought a new ceed sw last week. It has an ipod adapter. The letters POD are beside the barcode on the label and the code 96125-2L000 is underneath the barcode. The cable fits fine. BTW anybody have any problems with bluetooth conectivity in theit ceed sw. I can make calls via the car with an iphone4 but not with a HTC desire ot Galaxy S2 even though they will all pair with the head unit
