I lost a lot of weight a few years ago and have been left with monstrous "wings" where my upper arms once were, because I didn't exercise properly at the time. I'm not willing to go through Brachioplasty and appreciate that there's no way they'll ever be a regular size again, but I wondered if you Fitness Boardsies could recommend some good exercises that might tone them a little.

    Thanks very much. :)

    *flaps wings in advance appreciation*

You need to try and develop the muscles in your arms both biceps and triceps and probably reduce your overall body fat a bit further. Try pushups and tricep dips to start.

Sadly I don't even have the strength in my arms to do tricep dips or push-ups, so I can't really use these as a starting point... :o I'm a proper weakling. Are there ways to build up to doing these (say like the kind of push-up where you keep your knees on the ground)? Or would some kind of light dumbbell exercises be a good way to build up strength (I have little 5kg dumbbells at home)?

    Thanks in advance!

Start with girls push ups on your knees or if you can't manage these against a wall, by bending your knees and bringing your feet in closer to your bum you should manage a starter tricep dip. Body weight exercises are preferable to using dumbells because they'll hit a larger range of muscles, there's no point in having stronger arms coming off very weak shoulders and upper back.
