I mentioned a new project from The Expert on another thread, and here it is. It's a mash up of Aesop Rock's 'None Shall Pass' over Pete Rock production.

Can be downloaded from the below link

Well pete rock is probably my favourite producer next to Premo, and none shall pass is an excellent album, this should be very interesting. i can only imagine pete rocks production contrasting ridiculously with aesops rapping, but in a good way.

Edit: Downloaded it, had to download a program to read the files, got that, now my laptop is being hormonal and deciding to break down my Media player so i cant hear any of these tunes.

it should be a .rar file, was it WinRAR that you had to download?

    yep.

If you right click on the NoneShallPass[The Expert Mix].rar, then choose "extract to NoneShallPass[The Expert Mix]", that should create a folder called NoneShallPass[The Expert Mix]. The files should be in .mp3 format in there. Any media player should play them.

Which media player are you using?

Just finished it there, pretty fúckin good.

@Boom_Bap, i only knew a few of the instrumentals, "the creator", "T.R.O.Y", "the world is yours" and "Rather unique". Do you have a list of the others? :) i can't put a name to a few of them but i know them to hear.

There is a cover image in the opening post, and in the download, you should also have a picture of the album cover (front and back).
On the back cover, the name of the Aesop Rock vocal track is first, then the Pete Rock beat(s) are after it.

So track 2 is None Shall Pass over The Creators Remix.

Just curious, did he upload them as RAR files to prevent people putting them on youtube?

  • Moderators, Music Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 25,734 Mod ✭✭✭✭Boom_Bap

Nope, rar is becoming the standard or more widely used compression format lately. I'm sure you can still rip the extracted mp3's to youtube.

He'd probably welcome them being ripped to youtube.

RAR is just another type of .zip folder, to help compression for downloading and transferring. The .mp3 files themselves aren't altered.

All the more reason for Boards to hurry on with whatever upgrade they're planning so we can embed Soundcloud (and maybe even Bandcamp, here's hoping).

Just giving this a little nudge to see what people think.

I've personally been able to hear Aesop Rocks lyrics a bit clearer. The Ex done a great job on this. And the artwork is fabulous too :)
