Thanks to the knowledgeable chaps on here (doffs cap to Watty), I hear there's a third party plugin that'll I think allow me to add channels to a freesat box, while keeping it in freesat mode.
Anyone know what's its called or have a link?

How about experiences.... anyone using it that can tell me how good it is or otherwise??

Here it is, it's only for the HDR recorder, though

you will need to do some reading.

Sorry for the off topic post but can anyone confirm if that setup will allow you to have epg recordings for freesat and non freesat channels? Specifically I looking to have a freesat box with an lnb on 28E and a KA lnb on 9E and have freesat epg, with soarsat added in.

I've got this working on a technisat box, but in non-freesat mode, so I only get now and next on freesat channels, but the full epg on saorsat.

    Thanks in advance.

That looks like the one! Thanks.
Anyone have any experience of it running? I'm hoping for a low (zero..) maintenance oldies proof solution. Not too bothered about advanced features that seem to be available after a quick read of excolliers link

I'm thinking of using it on a humax freesat PVR.

My real target here is a freesat box, behaving like a freesat box, with auto-updates and no regular intervention required, or surprise break-downs! And capable of adding/sorting the saorsat channels (I'll settle for no auto-update and such compromises on saorsat. Freesat integration will do)

The above hack with humax hdr will give you Saorsat channels with NO epg information. Up until recently no freesat box would give you EIT epg details in freesat mode including the Humax with this hack. So for this reason its not ideal for freesat/saorsat combination.
Manhattan are the first freesat box manufacturer to release a set top box that allows EIT epg in freesat mode.DS100A Box being released this month. Unfortunately this receiver is of no use to saorsat as it does not allow Diseqc control and is not HD. HD needed for saorsat.
Manhattan are aware of Saorsat and know that it uses EIT for epg. They have unoffically stated that they may add diseqc in the future.
I'd wait to see what their G2 spec receiver has before purchasing something that you will not be fully happy with.
No release date for Manhattan G2 spec receiver only "later this year" 500GB and 1TB models will be available.
The beauty of the Manhattan is that no firmware hack is required in adding non freesat channels to epg. You can add non freesat channels to favourites.

Looking for exactly the same solution.
I'd really appreciate it you could share any success you've had finding it.

Humax Foxsat HDR is the only true Freesat receiver that does this, (as far as I am aware) or you will need to manually update on a generic FTA box. Take your pick.
