What do I need? I have read a few threads and am really interested in weight training. I ordered a book that was recommended here called "The new rules of lifting for women". What size weights do I need and what do I do? Thanks :D

Have you a gym membership? It could be a better investment that weights (if your thinking about dumbells that is). Personally, I prefer freeweights and I wouldnt be able to do them anywhere but the gym..but each to their own and all that!!

If your planning on training at home, you could start off my mastering some bodyweight movements (a quick google search will help you out)- squats, lunges, pushups etc.

Otherwise, instead of buying db's (slightly useless as you'll outgrow them too quickly IMO) maybe invest in a kettlebell. There are plenty of kettlebell programs out there that you could follow and they are actually great fun to play with!

    Hope that helps!
