Exam Tips

    Hi everyone,

So there's only a day left, but there's still a lot you can do to go up a grade or even 2, depending on the exam, and I'm not talking about studying.

My pres were awful, and I did a fair bit of study. Then my mocks were really good, and I did even less study!....the secret?

    "Exam Mentality"

    I knew I was screwed for the mocks, I should have got C's & D's but instead, A's & B's.

I went in there and I fought for every single mark, I filled every single line, I finished with ample time and instead of taking a quick nap, I went back, I did every single question again, double checking my answers.

    DO NOT LEAVE EARLY!
I know you'll be completely wrecked, and probably finished with over an hour or so left, but it is so important to stay till the end.

After you've finished, cover up your answers and do the questions again (for exams like maths)

Make sure you fill every single line, waffle or not, do it!
    (especially for exams like religion)

This really is the difference between grades, just imagine in every exam that you are on 54%, 69% or 84%.....every single mark counts!

    Most importantly though,
Relax!..Take a deep breath, you have plenty of time, just concentrate & do your best ;)

Oh and watch your timings, most exams are grand,
but for English & Irish, they can be pretty tight.

Remember, it's only your Junior Cert, it's not the end of the world,...besides by the time you leave school, it will probably be abolished!

    Good Luck All! :D

(Feel free to add any other tips ;) )

For maths if you have time left do questions that you feel you did badly again , do them three or four seperate ways and you will get marks for the best question :D as you have said exam mentality is so important , if you going into an exam thinking im going fail you will fail .

If you need more time ,sqeeze it out of the corrector ,say you are writing your exam number .The examiner cant take it off without your exam number .

If you need extra paper ask when you are finishing the last page of the booklet not when you are finished .

    Just do your best
