so right, not really sure what is going on here at all and it's not exactly a massive deal , but the @ button on my keyboard seems to only work when I hold it down for a few seconds, its just really really annoying:pac:

but the weird thing is when im using the swedish keyboard the problem switches to a different button, so it seems like its not actually a fault of the button itself but something internal

is there a way to just restore the setting on the language for the keyboard as it sounds like something like that would help?

Try uninstall the keyboard through device manager. Restart the PC and see if that helps.

Next time try uninstall the drivers if you get a dialog box and restart.

It has to be connected via one of the 2:

    PS/2 looks like this:

OK, if it's a laptop try and get hold of a PC keyboard (USB Connection) and try it in one of the USB ports on your laptop and see if you get the same result.
Post back result. Also make and model of the laptop.

cheers for the replies, tried a different keyboard and its the same deal with that one.

Its a hp pavilion g series.

I think the probelm started while I was add and looking at other region keyboards, but seeing as I reinstalled them and that it works on the enter password screen, this is really:confused:

Ok, Just check and see if you can do a system restore to a point before you started to install the other keyboard versions.
    Did you check this?

Control Panel ---> Ease of Access Center ---> Set up Filter keys and Click the Turn on Filter keys Check box.

The filter keys thing didnt seem to do anything , will try the system restore tomorrow after I back everthing. been a while since I back stuff up and I always seem to have bad luck with stuff like this even when I *think* nothing should be lost or anything

    thanks

This is not a system complete reset. None of your files will be lost.

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-AU/windows7/products/features/system-restore

follow this and see if there is a restore point that suits. You do not have to back up doing this.
