    I need help.

I've been accepted for a Masters part time program and am having a hard time finding the funds. I'm employed, nearly 40, Irish - I've tried citizens information for grants/funding, but no success.

Can anybody point me in a different directions?

    cheers!

What field is your Master's in?

There is practically no funding for Master's courses in Ireland, unless you are having your fees paid by a county council under the student grant scheme (which I guess, since you're working, won't apply), and even that has been scaled back dramatically. I know some courses in fields such as technology, environment etc. participate in a scheme that sees their course fees reduced in order to encourage people to take them, but that may not apply to you depending on what you will be studying.

I think apart from that you're probably looking at a bank loan. Or perhaps your employer would help you out if it's relevant to your job?

The only thing that I can think of is that you can get a tax refund on fees paid.

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.
