Just got the new S3 and so far I'm not impressed. When I go to connect to wifi and try to key in the security code. I can't key in anything.

Is there some setting I'm missing or something I'm doing wrong. I can't do anything with the phone until I can connect it. It has also froze a few times:mad:

Well when it prompts you for the code, you would usually tap the text box and the keyboard should pop up from the bottom, if that's not happening, there's something very wrong if its freezing, get a replacement, make no mistake..

I'm getting the keyboard but when I go to type in, nothing at all is happening. I'm wondering if there is something wrong that I'm doing. Maybe there is some setting I need to change. It seems the keyboard does not work when I try to type in the google search also.

I don't think there is tbh, that's very odd. Try going into settings >> language and input and see if there's anything wrong there

Suddenly it allowed me to type, no idea what I did differently and then it stopped again. I hope I don't have to bring it back to the shop as I won't be able to make it there until Thursday.

    Not a great start.

No, but but don't be disinclined, I think you're the first person that's after coming on here who's disappointed with the phone, even if it si due to some software glitch, or something. Once you go back, you should be able to get a replacement pretty quickly..

nice phone, im was having difficulty typing, for a big screened phone buttons seem close together, coming from a htc desire s, but changed to touchpal seems to work better then stock, got swift key might try that tomorrow, another thing loading back to main home screen sometimes freezes/ slow, battery life only average was expecting better, but pricking alot since i got it, samsung siri talk thing is fustrating, might need a good few tweaks to make sense of it,screen layout silly, my hp touchpad running cyanogenmod is more usable ICS, a few update might sort out the running order, its got strong possibilities

Was it charging at the time? I had that problem (non-responsive touchscreen) with an SGS2 and HP Touchpad.

I picked up a new one last Thursday and had trouble with certain part of touch screen.
I went into paint app and noticed about 1 square/inch of the screen was not working correctly.
Returned it the next day and they have sent it back to Eng to prove it was DOA before issuing refund for replacement.
It seems a lot have sliped through quality checks in rush to get them to market!

Try to set input keyboard to swype, I started using it and I can't think of going back to traditional typing ever again
