Campus Accommodation

So campus accommodation booking for continuing undergrads is tomorrow!! I'm thinking of booking Merville, hopefully, anyone know what houses are done up? Is is houses 10-20?

Hi Tom, yeah you get your deposit back if you cancel before a certain date! The policy is on the accommodation section of the website, think it's before the end if June but I'm not 100% sure, after that date they keep your deposit!

As far as I know, it's houses 15-26 that are renovated in Merville.

And you can cancel up until 30th June and get your deposit back minus a 10% administration charge!

Has anybody any idea what time (roughly ) this normally opens - i know last year the system crashed but is it normally a 5am kinda thing?

I see the SU said on Facebook that residences have told them that it won't open before 7am!!

That's what I'm thinking as well, would love to believe it tho, dreading the thought of getting up at 5am for a repeat of last year!! Desperately want campus tho so it'll be worth the early start!

Staying up all night refreshing the page.... Spent first year off campus, was utter ****e, not diong it again this year.

In hindsight, I think I was foolish not to bellieve the SU's fb update, sure there would be some uproar if it opened before 7 and them telling people otherwise!!

Hope it opens soon after all the waiting! Hope it doesnt wait till 9 or something, would be typical!
So if we pay our deposit now did i read we can get it back if we change our minds?

No. It just crashed but came back as still closed. It's not open for anyone yet.

And that says for senior students. What if your undergraduate?

Well hey, nothing like an archaic way to apply. this should have all been done at point of acceptance. not long after the fact. especially when it is still a "first come first serve" mentality

I think whichever would be OK since student desk told me they only accept the booking for a whole academic year's accommodation. So I think you have to stay on-campus for at least 2 semesters.
