Hey, atm i am just learner and well atm I am used and have no prob driving and talking to like 3 people in car, that's okay I still don't lose concentration on road, my friend turned on radio once and it kind of distracted me more than 3 people talking to me, so I am wondering how long it took you from obtaining provisional/full to be able to drive and listen to music fully and talk.

    Just out of interest.

Never had the radio on learning to drive just spoke to my accompanying passenger/driver. When I got my licence and had no accompanying passenger I noticed how quiet it actually was in the car and have driven with the radio/CD on ever since. If it's at a reasonable level it just fades into the background after a few minutes definitely wouldn't be blasting it for all to hear.

To be honest your better off leaving the radio off whilst learning that way you can hear the engine better it will give an audio clue when to change gears and you will be more aware of what's going on around you. I always used to open the window practicing the reverse around the corner sometimes I'd hear something before seeing it.

I have the full licence less than a year now and I still find some music distracting.
I find talk radio very distracting.

Never found the radio distracting since the word GO. Only when in awkward situations like parking would I switch it off.

I wouldn't find a radio or music distracting at all but sometimes when I have work colleagues in the car going to a meeting, I lose concentration in my directions. It doesn't affect my actual driving just my time of arrival. I'm much more focused when on my own.
