Slightly embarrassing, but I think I may have worms. Can I buy something for the OTC, or will I need to get a prescription from a doctor?

I would advise you visit a pharmacy and they should be able to help with your query.

You can get stuff OTC, you wil need to wash all bed linen etc, scrub under your nails, wear some form of underwear /pjs for a bit and then re-dose according the schedule you will find in the meds.
