It can't be done. You can't spot reduce.

    Post up your current diet.

    Current diet would be:
Breakfast: Usually Porridge the odd time cornflakes, Slice of Brown Bread

Lunch: Usually Brown bread sandwich odd time white with ham, cheese, coleslaw /sandwich with hot chicken

Dinner: 3 potatoes, veg, with meat varies from ham, beef, chicken

Supper: Maybe small sandwich and a couple of biscuits.

Would eat a bar of chocolate maybe 3 times a week

Bare in mind I dont want to lose weight and any time I diet I could go down to just over 10 stone and would still have a belly fat and would obviously be underweight

that diet is very carb heavy, and you won't lose body fat because your body will use all those carbs before using any fats.

your daily calories to maintain a steady weight would be about 2500.
I'd reckon you'd want to split the calories 40% protein, 25% carbs, 35% fat (good/unsaturated). if you're losing fat, to avoid losing weight you need to replace it with muscle mass, hence the high protein.

so you'd be working with approx. 250g protein, 150g carbs, 100g good fats per day.

it's hard to be exact because I don't know your lifestyle/habits, but here's a few examples of changes you could try:

have scrambled eggs instead of the porridge a few times a week.

try incorporate 3 or 4 servings of fish into each week.

replace some of the potatoes with extra veg

find snacking alternatives to the biscuits/chocolate, eg. mixed nuts (preferably unsalted), certain fruits (especially strawberries & raspberries), individual servings of cheese (eg Cheesestrings, Babybel, etc.), yoghurts, or one of my favorites is sugar free jelly.

Do you have a specific reason why you want to lose the belly? Wedding? Holiday?

If so cut out the bread and junk straight away.

If not, get rid of the bread anyway and gradually work at changing your eating patterns.

    Read the stickies.

Do you do any weight training? Would you consider trying it?

Ditch all wheat ( bread, pasta, junk foods, cornflakes etc) for at least 3 weeks. You will either
    A) never go back because you will see and feel the difference or
    B) keep going around in circles looking for another solution other than the one that is cut out the wheat and eat unprocessed foods 90% of the time

Finally do some body weight exercises to speed up the progress

Cut out the bread, thats one of the best things i ever did i terms of my diet. At first i didn't know what else to have instead as i'd had bread every day for my lunch for years. There are so many options though, i usually have chicken or fish with some veg and healthy fats. I seem to have more energy in the afternoons too as a result. Its a win all round:)

Eat less bread, potatoes, biscuits and chocolate and eat more fruit, etc, and you will lose the belly in no time. Also do some weights, which will mean you develop muscle as opposed to just keeping your weight up.
