    hi there,

i wonder if there are many people around that have a look at boards/play magic-- i was away from the MTG scene for a few years (6, to be more exact) and just felt like coming back to play a few games

i need a few heads up with some deck choices before i throw myself into the lions

so, i got humanity's vengeance and deck list is as follows:

    (24) lands

    2x glacial fortress
    1x moorland haunt
    9x island
    12x plains

    (11) spells

    2x dismember
    1x divine deflection
    2x mental misstep
    3x oblivion ring
    3x righteous blow

    (25) creatures

    1x blade splicer
    4x fiend hunter
    4x gideon's lawkeeper
    1x mirran crusader
    3x nearheath pilgrim
    2x nephalia smuggler
    1x phyrexian metamorph
    4x porcelain legionnaire
    3x tandem lookout
    2x wingcrafter

i have the following singles arriving any moment at my postal box:

    3x blade splicer
    4x champion of the parish
    4x day of judgment
    2x glacial fortress
    3x mirran crusader
    3x moorland haunt
    3x phyrexian metamorph

a couple of choices are pretty much obvious, i know--

at the moment i'm not really worried about sideboard-- i'm just focused in trying to make the HV deck playable and minimally competitive if i show up at a standard tournament-- i don't want to show up to a match and have my ass royally handed to me in a silver plate

... anyone can help me a bit here ? please explain the changes if you can-- i've been reading about it as much as possible but i still have a bit to catch up so don't cut too many corners when laying down what i should or not do-- i can spend another 100quid (or so) in singles if i have to...

    thanks much in advance :D

ahum... i see not many people into magic...

well, i suppose i'll keyword and leave this post up just in case someone needs help...

anyways, this is a very close version of the deck i'll be (more or less) playing until rotation for the next standard events (at least, until i get enough cards to build some other crazy/strange/derp deck)

    list of changes:

    lands

    +2 glacial fortress
    +1 moorland haunt
    +4 seachrome coast
    -4 island
    -3 plains

    creatures

    +1 phyrexian metamorph
    +1 wingcrafter
    +3 blade splicer
    +3 mirran crusader
    +4 champion of the parish
    +4 elite vanguard
    +3 hero of bladehold
    -3 nearheath pilgrim
    -2 nephalia smuggler
    -4 fiend hunter
    -4 gideon's lawkeeper
    -4 porcelain legionnaire
    -3 tandem lookout

    spells

    +3 mana leak
    +2 negate
    +3 ponder
    +1 oblivion ring
    -1 divine deflection
    -2 dismember
    -2 mental misstep
    -3 righteous blow

so, the final deck list looks something like:

    (24) Lands

    4x Glacial Fortress
    4x Seachrome Coast
    2x moorland haunt
    5x Island
    9x Plains

    (24) Creatures

    4x Champion of the Parish
    4x Elite Vanguard
    4x Blade Splicer
    4x Mirran Crusader
    3x Hero of Bladehold
    3x Wingcrafter
    2x Phyrexian Metamorph

    (12) Spells

    3x Mana Leak
    2x Negate
    3x Ponder
    4x oblivion ring

well-- thanks for looking and hope this helps

Nice deck. Fiend Hunters are great, dunno what you could change though.
Also, Gather the Townsfolk is nice with Champion and Hero. Silverblade Paladin is a nice one too.

Thanks-- tested only against a rogue and a naya-- mana wasn't great but I could blame my shuffe skills

wasn't impressed, though-- this weekend I'll see how the scene is but most likely I'll be building miracles or reanimator and start getting used to those builds

not the best season to come back, with so many changes coming in a couple months time
