Wonder if thats the final route. Seems to be more time spent in the park but still comes out the chapelizod gate? Where else has changed?

Same as last year, I thought there were changes this year?

wasn't the route slightly different through the park because of maintenance works last year. If i recall we kept to the "right" for the first mile or so in the park instead of the normal dog leg that took you towards the middle of the park.

Last year the route went the whole way along the north road up to the castle knock roundabout and then onto ordinance survey road > upper glen > chapelizod gate.

2012 and 2010 are the same routes. 2011 avoided Chesterfield in the Park because of roadworks.

    I believe that's correct.
A couple of key changes to the route were planned. However, we were unsuccessful in getting those approved for various different reasons.

CLONSKEAGH ROAD- A slow tedious incline
    ROEBUCK ROAD- That darn hill

Are just cruel at 20- 21 miles. I was hoping they would be changed.

I sappose that I'll just have to have to train harder.

I had a secret hope for that too, but yeah, we'll just have to train for the hills instead. :o:p

Yea it is quite the slog. I'm wondering why the don't run the reverse course like in 2002 some years, just to shake it up a little. Then the only up hill in the last few miles would be at the back of the phoenix park.

Because then O'Connell street would have to be closed for several hours and that simply won't be happening.
