Ring the dealer. They should sort you out a lot cheaper.

i know its off topic but the fact that a 10 passat is sold with hub caps is a fluckin disgrace

I would have thought €30 - €40 for a pair from a VW dealer parts department. Sure that's all it usually costs us - wonder if €80 is a full set?

Alternatively, you can go the hire car route and buy 4 cr@ppy wheel trims from lidl/aldi/halfords for a tenner. You'll need to buy another set though when the front passenger one falls off - again!

The brand new model comes with wheeltrims - don't see what the issue is. Of it's competitors, only the Monde base model has Alloys as standard. Alloys on the Passat are a cheaper upgrade than they are on the Insignia and I don't think it's even possible (from factory) on the Avensis.

VW wheel trims are among the cheapest to buy (along with Ford) in our experience.

They are usually around €25 + VAT each which isn't bad at all if you ask me. Try ringing Toyota for a price on an Avensis wheel trim and you will soon realise that you aren't doing too badly with the old Passat after all.

Don't assume that just because alloy wheels are important to you then they must be to everyone else too. Remember also that VRT is chargeable on wheels that come with the car, but not wheels fitted afterwards.

@OP - As MuppetCheck said, try a few VW dealers - they'll sometimes have hubcaps hanging around from cars that they fitted with alloys.
