Not sure if there's a thread on it anywhere.

From the ad I thought it was gonna be a bit of craic and interesting but turns out it's pretty tame.

    What do ye think?

They should have never got rid of breaking ball!

Martys Gaa show flopped last year and then Rte just give him another show and rename it. Madness!

Overall it was alright. Tame enough as you said.

I think it's a great idea. Gives us more GAA related shows to watch, because the Sunday Game isn't enough. It may of been tame the first show, but it's still early in the championship and was the first airing of the show. Marty Morrissey is a great presenter too, he's some man for the banter . It'll get better.

recorded it the other night and sat down and watched it last night and ill not watch it again.it should be an hour long show as they didnt even have time to preview all this weekends games properly.its a good idea in theory but because its only a half hour its skipping around the place too much

agree with all of this. RTE havent produced a proper GAA magazine show in years, and they still go on the same formats just changing bits and pieces here and there, but still ending up with the same tired old stuff. Having more GAA on tv doesnt necessarily mean its a good thing, it needs to be properly done and not some two bit program used to fill a slot and hope people will watch because of its subject, rather than its content.

that seems to be the problem with RTE in general with their sport....the over egged talking heads a la Hook/Spillanne/Dunphny/Brolly is their failsafe way of filling time set aside to sport. Morrissey is apparently quite a personable guy but shoehorning him into a half hour show like this and interviewing a former player and the GAA director general is not compulsive viewing.

They should fire whoever is producing the show.

Ever watch Match of the Day 2? When they're introducing the game they have silly puns and funny animations. They should do something like this with the GAA.

Like the soccer and MNS, they've made it better to watch with their "good, the bad and the ugly". Things like that need to be introduced.

breaking ball was a great show, don't know how it was axed, do they still make the magazine?

Don't think so. Is there any GAA magazine available now?

Is HoganStand gone? I enjoyed that magazine.
