Turn Off Email Updates

Is there a way for any new posts in subscribed threads to not be sent to my email account? I don't mean individually ticking off subscriptions to threads. Just completely disabling email updates. My account is completely clogged with emails from boards at this stage.

2nd section "Messaging & Notification" under "Default Thread Subscription Mode" in the drop down box select "No email notification".
