Just wondering if anyone could share their stories or experiences on weight gaining.I guess im looking for some inspiration as the whole weight gaining process can become very frustrating.I mean i have put on roughly just an extra 3 lbs over the last 6 wks by doing strength training program (5x5)4 times a wk and eating a lot more each day.I think im doing everything right but it can be very disheartening to know that 6 wks of a lot of hard effort on my part has just gained 3 lbs. Thanks in advance

I went from 17 stone to 18.5 stone between January and May this year by drinking a bottle or two of red wine every Friday and Saturday night, and scoffing a load of stuff like parma ham, chorizo, olives, pate, cheese, crackers, nuts, and this kind of thing along with it. It's been a long hard road, but I permitted myself a quiet smile of triumph when I found I no longer fit into 36 waist trousers.

Went from ~140lbs to ~180lbs in 4 years and with a lower % of body fat at ~180lbs. It just takes time and consistent honest work. From my calculations it means I gained on average 1.2lbs every 6 weeks (obviously not consistently with injury, illness, cutting for sport, exams etc.). If you gain 3lbs in 6 weeks that's 26lbs a year - think about the long term. 3lbs doesn't sound like much but 26lbs is a fair amount. The only reason people can't gain weight successfully is because of 2 main reasons:

    1) Like you, they become unmotivated due to the slowness of the process

    2) They bite off more than they can chew and gain weight too quickly either due to misinformation/miscalculation (or a combo of both) resulting in chubby lads

Stick with it, you'll thank me in 2 years for this wonderful advice. You can buy my gym membership for the year as thanks. You're welcome! ;)
