    Hi,

I'm fixing up an XC mtb for someone. I have all the components but need a frame. I'm looking for a decent modern XC frame, 17inch, >1.8kg, new or 2nd hand.

    thanks.

Have a look at the Giant XTC Aluminium frame, they are great value brand new

Thanks, €399 is a bit out of my price range, though i have always heard nothing but positive stuff about Giant MTBs.
I was looking at the on-one scandal which seems good VFM.

Dawes Watoga 18", 2kg like this one
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/DAWES-Bankrupt-Dawes-Watoga-Silver/dp/B00718WO1M
but used for a year, light scratching but no creaks etc. Builds up into a 100mm entry level bike
€60 posted if it's what you require.

Thanks JonDoe, but looking for something a bit better than that, something like a 2nd hand rockhopper or Giant xtc frame

I might be willing to part with my Giant XTC Carbon Medium frame for about €250. It's circa 2009, and the only issue is that the rear disc tab is a little loose, so I've been running v-brakes for the last 2 years. It is mendable, but I've never bothered. Would include a seatpost and the v-brakes if you wanted them.

EDIT: When I said the v-brakes included, I mean the rear only; an Avid Titanium v-brake. Good power in it, I've never been found wanting with it. Also included would be a basic Suntour fork and a headset.
