Hey, drove today from 7 PM until 10:30 PM on various roads and conditions, probably tested all possible things you can do with driving in dublin.

    1) Drove in city,
    2) Drove in extreme turn roads and areas.
    3) Parking all ways (driving with front, reversing in, from side, from front in tight space, learned it now)
    4) Drove on high speeds of like 80-85.
    5) Let through ambulance, then firemen.
    6) Parked on Lidl parking lot.
    7) Constant stops on traffic.
    8) Driven around airport with crosswinds and stuff like that.
    9) About 10 hill starts.
    10) Constant lane changes on both: streets and National roads.
    11) Overtaking large vehicles.
    12) Reversing on street (drove into cul de sac somehow) Didn't know that, just few years ago in phoenix park there was a drive through, today I bumped into gates, had to reverse out of there.
    13) Petrol stations.
    14) Left, straight, right exits on roundabouts about 15 of total.
    And other kinds.
And I have few problems which my friend said we will work on:

    1) I kind of switch gears very hard and harsh, like using force to switch gear. I don't know why, just used to that, will examiner look at that?
    2) When on traffic and I start driving, sometimes car starts to jag or shake, I don't understand what happens there.
    3) I tend to automatically "STOP" at roundabouts, even though way is 100% clear and there is no single living thing around.
    4) In what gear should you take roundabouts? (today when I saw no one coming and it was big roundabout I took it in 3rd gear, small ones and if I need to slow down I take in 2nd, is that ok?
    5) I don't understand when do you speed to get through yellow and when to stop? Today I was driving at 70 km/h and yellow showed up, I was about 50 metres from traffic light, my friend said to speed up, but when I was like 100 metres away from yellow he said switch to lower gear and slow down, so how?
    6) How to get this illusion out of head, when I drive in national roads like N3 and see other drivers driving fast, it automatically makes me think I am driving way to slow and start to speed up, then it turns out I am at 100 km/h though limit is 80 km/h.
    7) If there is 2 lanes say there is road going from N3, and it's left line goes to left and right to right, and I am standing on right and I am first in line, and no one is behind me, on left lane there is also no people, yet they are coming in (driving up), so I am standing on traffic light in right lane, and I see emergency vehicle coming on right side, it can't change to left line and overtake me because there are cars beside it driving, should I drive off the right lane into left and put right indicator on? My friend today said to do it, and ambulance got through then, it seemed a bit weird to me, I always thought if you are in left line that's it, you are obligated to turn left then?
    8) If lidl parking lot is 97% free, there is like 3 or 4 cars, is it okay if I just drive in and park quickly across 2 parking spaces, and literally leave car there only for 3 minutes?

PS: to those who followed my parking situation yesterday:
The guy learned a lesson, and parks properly now in middle of his spot, not half way on mine, it's alright now I took lesson of instructor this morning on parking, so I am alright now :D:D

    Clutch ?

    3) I tend to automatically "STOP" at roundabouts, even though way is 100% clear and there is no single living thing around.
You'll soon iron that out with more practice, at least you know where your going wrong.

    4) In what gear should you take roundabouts? (today when I saw no one coming and it was big roundabout I took it in 3rd gear, small ones and if I need to slow down I take in 2nd, is that ok?
Usually 2nd but if its a big roundabout then 3rd should be okay.

    5) I don't understand when do you speed to get through yellow and when to stop? I was always taught only to go through on an orange/yellow if I knew it was unsafe for me to stop due to speed, distance and if there was a car too close behind me.

    6) How to get this illusion out of head, when I drive in national roads like N3 and see other drivers driving fast, it automatically makes me think I am driving way to slow and start to speed up, then it turns out I am at 100 km/h though limit is 80 km/h.
Well if the speed limit is 80 then its 80. I wouldn't worry what others are doing. Since the introduction of the GoSafe vans (money grabbing machines) its become easier to get caught speeding so be careful.

What part of the N3 is this your referring to ? I'm familiar with that road so might be able to help you.

Just park the car properly, its not going to kill yeah :)

    .

It's the part on N3 where when driving from city centre, you turn to the left and then right to go to blancherstown.

This after the hill just before the M50 roundabout and before the turn to the hospital ?

    nope, don't see that place

Hmm, well other then the Maple Centre and Halfway House that's the only junction(s) along the N3 till a short while after Clonee but you'd have to be on the M3 to get to it so irrelevant that is.

Not here then is it ?

    Found it,
    http://goo.gl/maps/ekoR

Just there, bit different place. Anyways there I was supposed to turn right, so I was in right line and no one behind, then there was coming ambulance behind me so I changed lane to left, but turned right, I thought if you go into left line you are obligated to turn left then?

Ah yea I know there well.
When you did eventually turn was there anybody in the right lane after the ambulance had passed ? If not then fair enough, you hadn't much choice. But if there was it could of been dangerous as people who do be in both lanes do continue on straight into Clonee village even though ROTR states that stay to the left when going straight. This is what I was always taught. Either way though when I come up that slip road to go straight on I stay in the left lane.

nope, it was at about 10 PM, no one was on right, just big long line coming on left but way behind so I had time to change and let ambulance through

You'll be fine then but only cause there wasn't anybody coming up the right hand lane. :)
