How's your bra?

I've been unemployed for a month now and, having no real reason to, have pretty much stopped wearing a bra unless I'm going out. At first I was very concious of it, but now it feels kind of weird to have one on. I'm not getting any pain, even running upstairs or walking in a 'bouncy' way.

How about you? Do you not wear one unless you have to? Could you never imagine going without it?

ETA: I'm fairly booby too, so I was a bit surprised by how comfy I've been.

I'm an unusual size - a 30DD. I like to call them the most unimpressive DD's ever because they're certainly not what most picture when they think of DDs. I like them, though, because I can go bra-less and be fine, but I also see what a difference a good bra makes in the right clothes.

I also think that finding your 'right' bra size is really important for comfort. For years, shopping assistants at VS would slap a tape measurement across my upper chest ( not my boobs, but my chest right above) - not even take it all the way around - and declare me a 32A. 32 because they don't carry any strap lower than that, and A because my torso is very narrow. And I was smushed into bras for years and hated it. I couldn't wait to get home and tear the damn thing off. Then a friend of mine who's a professional seamstress measured me for a dress and commented on how difficult it must be for me to find bras in my size. I asked her what she meant and she told me my measurements showed I was a 30DD. I finally got a hold of one and tried it on - a world of difference. I couldn't believe I actually filled out, but I also couldn't believe how comfortable it was.

Since then I've purged all of my old bras and only have the ones in my correct size now, and while I don't wear them with everything, I'm not rushing to take them off when I get home.

I only take my bra off to wash myself, go running (so then I wear a sports bra - even more support) or let someone "appreciate" my boobies. :pac:
I sleep in my bra - all it means is having to wash bras more frequently. A good bra is something I'm happy to spend a good bit of money on. I'd find it very uncomfortable to go braless - sore and heavy... but maybe I'd get used to it.
I don't think I've ever found a bra uncomfortable. I get measured often enough too and put effort into getting the right size.
My boobs are a part of my body I'm really happy with.

One of the first things I do when I get home, and won't be going out again till tomorrow, is take off my bra. I'm quite booby too, and it surprises me how comfy I find being bra-less. It's almost worth wearing one to experience the feeling of release when it's time to relax and you take it off :p.

Funny things, bras. Funny word too when you say (or type) it a few times :D

I used to wear them all the time, even in bed. Then I started going to bed without one (don't know why or when I decided to change) but I haven't looked back since. Once I have a shower and am into to my pyjamas, the bra stays off.

I often don't wear bras. I rarely wear bras with dresses. Or vest tops. But then again I'm only an A cup :o

Couldn't imagine wearing a bra in bed. Even if I'm really drunk, in a strange house (not that that ever really happens!) I'd still have to take my bra off before I go to sleep.

Well I've grown and haven't gotten measured yet, so haven't gotten new, right sized bras, so lately it's been kind of uncomfortable. I go braless around the house or in my boyfriends house, but I always wear one when I'm going out. Getting measured on the weekend, looking forward to getting some new bras ;)

I always wear pjs at home and that means no bra
it's fine otherwise but I wish the straps would stop falling down my shoulders and being too long

I read somewhere that wearing a bra inhibits the draining of the lymphatic system which is located in our boobs, because a bra tends to constrict those channels. I whip mine off around 8pm every night..its comfy :)

I always wear one unless I'm in bed, maybe 20% of the time I leave it on in bed. Feel uncomfortable without one, don't even notice it on me, just that I feel more comfortable. I'm 34D, I almost never leave the house without one, only in winter if it was so cold when I was getting out of bed that I just threw on layers of jumpers and a scarf or a hoody. Nobody even notices if I don't wear one though, look the same, I just hate the feeling of not having it on.

One of the best feelings in the world is walking through the door after a long day, yanking the bra off (down a sleeve, classy!) and kicking off the heels.:)

I always wear a bra when I'm out, I'm not hugely endowed but I want to keep them where they are as far as is possible. Couldn't sleep in a bra though, but if I was bigger I probably would.

Yep, the bra comes off once I know I'm in for the night - down the sleeves to the every amazment of my partner.

One day I accidently went to work without one and only noticed after about 2 hrs of feeling very comfortable. :oAnd I do wear the right size.

I got a nursing bra in mothercare and put it on around the third day after baby was born because my milk had come in and I needed something to hold in the breast pads. Seriously uncomfortable so since I've been home I just dug out every vest I own that has hidden support - the breast pads dont slip out of them and its easy to yank down a strap and feed baby.

The only reason I don't wear them in bed is because they say you shouldn't, I would happily wear one 24/7.

Only comes off when I'm in bed, wear pjs around the house but still wear a bra. I find it uncomfortable not wearing one. I take my knickers off though:D

Bra is off the minute I'm in the front door!
I wouldn't go braless going out though. I've got decent boobage (C-D) and could probably get away without a bra sometimes but I would be very self conscious without one on.

I can wear knickers and no bra, but never a bra and no knickers.

    Feels wrong. Very wrong.

Have to have both off or the bottom half on for some reason :)

Depends on what cloths you wearing to go bra less, seen a woman power walking yesterday braless in a loose strap top, how she didn't knock herself our is beyond me, they were everywhere! It had to of been uncomfortable!

I sleep without a bra, and im not fond of shoe string nickers, I love hot pants or short shorts lace or cotton..

I always make sure my undies fit after sitting beside a woman in work, who is quite heavy, I've seen her nickers more times than she has! Her g string would be right up her back! Her bra was wayyyy to small, it was like watching jelly trying to escape from a bowl..

I even went shopping with her to try and suggest lovely fitting cloths, she had none of it and was squeezing her (approx) 38e's into a 34cc!!

I always wear one except in bed. I wear sports bras for exercise. But pretty much every bra I own is underwired (even the sports bras).

I recently noticed some lumpiness in one breast, had to go to the breast clinic in James Hospital to have it checked out.

Turns out I have developed an 'underwire ridge', the boob equivalent of a callus on your foot! Its most probably from taking up running recently, and running and bouncing in underwire sports bras. Its no harm, but I did get a bit of a fright.

Once I was very ill and became very skinny for a long period of time - like under 8 stone when a healthy weight on me is 10 stone.
I went braless a lot then, I liked it.

I got some great bras on ebay recently. They are brightly coloured sports bras, and they look like funky little bra tops. Only 10 dollars each and great colours and great fit. Im another unusual size, been squashing myself into 36 Cs for years, but in truth Im more at my ease in a 38 D. To be honest I think Im a 37 and a C or D depending on cup size.

I hate when I see women walking or running without proper support in the boobage area!! I just want to go up to them and shake them! I don't know about anyone else but I find it really uncomfortable to work out without wearing a sports bra.

I could never ever wear a bra in bed, not a hope! I come in from work, bra comes off, makeup comes off, hair goes up, ready to relax. :)

I'd often go out and about without a bra, too. It's fine unless I'm walking too fast/too far.

Basically I'm as comfortable wearing one as not wearing one. I always get correctly measured, by the way, and I'm a 34E (or at least I was last time, it's been about six months so I must go again!)

Like everyone else on this thread, I love taking mine off at the end of the day!

I don't have massive boobs 34C/D but they look more like 34 B. Means even with a bra on there isn't much of a lift, they settle low (not droopy mind) but I tend to look fairly flat chested. I can wear no bra out though... that is great :) Thank God for tit tape.

Definitely +1 on getting a proper bra fitted. I'm about a 34D these days. I've had some trouble getting properly measured though. One woman was shocked that I'd gone for a fitting without a bra on: how did she expect to measure me properly if I was wearing a bra the wrong size?

As others have said, it's only if I'm wearing a loose-fitting top that I'd notice I'm braless, then they wobble about a bit and, though not uncomfortable, they attract stares from passers-by.

I really can't believe that some people sleep in their bras, I can't imagine that at all.

On holidays a few years ago I was on an easygoing beach where many people were in the nude. However, there were several women wearing bikini tops but no bottoms, have never figured out why!

LOL, love this thread, very timely for me as I woke up this morning and thought "Do I REALLY have to wear a bra today? Really?" - so here I am in the office bra-less. It's something I rarely do as I'm 30E but if I wear a baggy loose top then I can get away with it, i.e. no one can see the jiggliness.

Thumbs up for getting decent bras and getting fitted properly, makes a huge difference in terms of comfort and support. I'm also in the "arrive in the house, fling bra across the room" camp - I never wear one at home unless there's people coming over.

Free the Springfield two! (Homer talking about Marge's boobs :D)

I do be the same. I have slept in my bra for years, I don't know when I started, but it is second nature to me now, it feels weird NOT to. When I got sunburnt ta feck in Florida I couldn't put one on for a couple days for love nor money and it was the weirdest feeling EVER!!.

I really must get measured again properly, has been far too long. Was a E cup last time I was measured. Only thing is I really don't know of anywhere dacent that does proper measuring

I wear my bra to bed most of the time, I have done since I started wearing one 19 year's ago. I don't wear one for kick boxing, I wear a support vest. I do sleep naked now and then it with a very light sexy vest and shorts.

I find most bras comfy I'm a 34 d. I got measured for the first time 3 days ago.

My rule tends to be PJs on, bra off. I don't necessarily take it off when I'm just at home, because I kinda do need the support (32FF/G cup the last time I checked), but I can't sleep with one on.

I always wear a bra. Feel very floppy without!! I find my good old M&S ones really comfy. Having said that it is time to invest in a new batch.

I put a clean one on after my shower at night and just take it off whe I am going to bed.

On hilidys if Iam wearing a sun dress that is fitted and has bust support then I can get away with not wearing a bra.

well my boobs hurt most of the time, I at least like to wear a bra so that I've got something between them and objects/elbows they might come in contact with :o also I ran down the stairs without a bra, hit the bottom and just went "OW" so yeah, definitely prefer to wear one when out and about. but I never sleep with one on, dunno how I could.

I started wearing bras when my boobs came in, 13 or thereabouts, found it soooo uncomfortable, and stopped wearing a bra til I was around 19-20. I only started then because people made me very uncomfortable, passing comments about my lack of bra. Over time, I've got used to wearing one,and find it mostly comfortable now, but on hols I'll often go without, and chilling around the house, and I would never wear one to bed.

OT, something I learned recently is that the cup size also depends on the back size, I always though a 34B was the same cup size as a 36B, just the back size different, but in fact not! A 34B is the same cup size as a 36A!

Yes, it's called a sister size. In Victoria's Secret they will ask if the fit is ok or do you want to try your sister size. It's kinda weird!

Yep, makes perfect sense when you think about it. When you increase the band/ back side, the cup size decreases. If a fitter tells you to wear your back measurement plus 4 inches then go to another fitter. The band should fit you snugly and shouldn't be moving all round the place.

I can't relate to people who go without bras for any longer than absolutely necessary. :p
Just differing levels of sensitivity I guess.
Right now my boobs are hoisted up in a good Fantasie bra and despite the good support, they're still kinda sore and tender and heavy (period time) and they're big enough, about a DD, but not absolutely gargantuan. My friends (sisters) are G and H cups and they can go bra-less no bother - I just think... OUCH!!!
Can't relate to going knickerless any time other than necessary either - because in my case there'd be... er... consequences! :o

I've always reckoned my lady-parts might be more sensitive than average though... thankfully in the good way for the most part. :pac:
