That picture is almost useless its so large (make it smaller!)

It looks like a fixed wireless receiver (very like diginet design)

Looks a little small to be a satellite dish but I'm not sure as to how it could affect your internet service unless your both with the same provider and they have split your bandwidth. Maybe a post in the broadband/midband forum might be a better bet.

would you no if it would interfere with my eircom line,it points directly at the phone line coming into my house?

Very doubtful any wireless device on any frequency would do this. It could be interfering with your wireless signal from your router, but not the phone line.

You say phone line, do you have DSL broadband from the phone line? Can you login to your router on 192.168.1.254 and post your line stats.

edit : i have page open, this what your looking for?

    eircom broadband: Connected
    DSL Mode: ADSL_G.dmt
    Speed: 8160 kbps /512 kbps
    Line Attenuation (Down/Up): 26 dB /14 dB
DSL Noise Margin: 12 dB /22 dB

The ill-fated British Satellite Broadcasting did use diamond-shaped dishes (called "squarials") of similar size, but that is over twenty years ago.

Your line stats are fine, nothing wrong there.

Please better describe the issue your having, whether it happens intermittent or all the time, wired or wireless.

The item posted looks like one of those " high gain digital outdoor aerial" like the ones 4life make or those mux monster things from the UK. I've seen them alto latelylately i installed one on a camper not too long ago...doubt if that is the source of the interference you are getting unless the radio channel that your wifi is transmitting on is picking up something.

Not a Satellite dish. A gimicky overpriced TV aerial for Analogue or Digital UHF.

Perhaps the OP is using WiFi rather than a cable between the PC and ADSL modem/Router. In which case it's a WiFi issue, nothing to do with Internet.

Disable WiFi on your PC/Laptop/Xbox and try a cabled connection to the Modem/Router

Did you try resetting router? Also, have you checked what is connected to your wifi network. Some Eircom routers gave very poor security and are easy to gain access to. Check what devices are actually using your network. Your neighbours could be leeching your bandwidth. Change your ssid and password/wepkey. Also, if you are dling torrents they can eat up your bandwidth.

That is most likely the issue.
Your your neighbours may be using a wireless connection in their house operating on the same channel as your wireless router/AP. This would cause interference and would lead to weaker/dropping signal.
As Watty has said try a wired connection to rule that issue in or out. If the connection is good on wired you need to chance the channel of you wireless router/ap, you can get instructions for this via google - but it usually involves logging onto the device (like you have above) and looking under the wireless settings.

It does look similar to the DID one. It does not look like the Imagine Wimax.

Can you get a clear image of the logo at the top of the device?

It's probably not the reason for your problem. Connect you PC/Laptop direct to your DSL modem using a cable, and turn off the wifi on your laptop etc. Does the problem go away? If so then it's wifi interference. If so try to always use a cable. If wifi is essential then post a new thread in the correct area.

As the unix in the background is pointing north, and the OP is in Trim, the 4life aerial thingy is pointing south towards Kippure.
