Bathroom basin cold water pipe covered in blue 'dust'

    Hi,

In one of my bathrooms, the cold water pipe, which is copper, going from the ground up to the tap has a blue/green coating which is like a dust and needs to be wiped off the floor occasionally. The entire pipe from basin to ground is covered in it.

The hot water one is fine, as are all the other basin pipes.

Does anyone know what it is?

    Should I be worried?

I would say u have a very slight weep on the nut connecting the tap.the greenly blue colour is the water reacting with the copper
