Recently I have noticed the trend in cinema starting to show west-end plays and some concerts.

I know currently the National Theatre (London) are releasing a series of their plays to be shown in cinemas around UK & Ireland. There is a couple I would love to see but just wondering if anyone had ever gone to see a play shown on the big screen?

Just wondering what it is like and does it comes across well ?

Went to see Madam Butterfly in the cinema (the other half dragged me) as well as Les Miserables.

It obviously isn't the same as being there properly but the picture quality is stunning and sound superb - the camera work was very good for both as well, focusing where you would yourself naturally.

If you can't get to the play itself, it certainly is a good way of seeing it.

My only issue I got off the older people attending as I sat down with my popcorn and Ben&Jerry's.

That good to hear as could not get tickets to one of the plays when I was in London - Frankenstein-and when it comes to the cinema I want to go see it. So good to know that the camera work is like being there yourself.

I would have loved to see the faces on the older crowd as you came in with the ice -cream and popcorn:D Have to remind them they are in a cinema. I hope they were not dressed up as if going to the theatre.
