My girlfriend's uncle recently gave me a pair of vintage Ray Ban Signets. Unfortunately they have mysteriously disappeared - they either fell out of my bag without me noticing or were stolen, again without me noticing. Anyhow, I'm looking to replace them in the next few days and wanted to ask some advice on what size to get.

It all comes down to a choice between 53mm width lenses and 55mm width lenses. Doesn't sound like a big difference but the ones I had before were perfect and I'm not sure what size they were. They describe them as unisex but uncle Javier had two pairs, one that I took and another that appeared to be for women, although the difference seemed a lot greater than 2mm on each side.

Can anyone advise? I know these aren't the most popular Ray Ban variety, but for me they're the coolest.
