Car Radio Replacement - 1Din or 2Din

Just took over a Ssangyong Kryon 08. Radio is weak....:D

Thinking of replacing it with the 7" touch screen GPS, Bluetooth DVD enabled radio sets.

Two options available (due to radio housing)

2Din - with a single build in screen

1Din - with a retractable 7" screen

Has anyone experience of the retractable, do they wobble more during driving (GPS), are they solid, or flimsy?

Are the fixed screens an invitation to enter the vehicle :mad: (they don't seem to be detachable screens)

Retractable ones are so 10 years ago, but more importantly, those eBay style units tend to have rubbish sound.


Halfords doing Sony double din units for around 225 on sale. No gps but who cares

Aye, I guess I was thinking out of sight out of temptation.

Which is safer, a big radio with a 7" screen or once nicey tucked away.


The gps is a bonus, means no sucker marks on the window or using my phone navigation.

Going for the all in one, but your right, hard to judge the sound over the web, at least halfords you can see what your getting first.
