quick one lads. my electric window (driver's seat side) broke on the way home this evening. any idea of the cost of repair on this? i plan on getting rid of it shortly anyway, so i was wondering whether it would be worth fixing at all because i am not expecting much on a trade in

its a 10 year old passat

advice from the mechanics or mechically minded would be great

    cheers

If by broken, you mean it won't go up or down, then its prob an electric window switch which is simple to fit and costs about €30 -€40 for the part.

To check that its not the window motor, you can open your windows using your key. If its a normal old fashioned key, stick it in the lock and keep it turned to open until the windows go down, or if its a remote key just keep the unlock button pressed until the windows go down.
