Hey everyone! I know its a long way off before the recruitment ban is lifted but i have a question that no one can seem to answer for me! If your partner has served a prison sentence does that affect your chances of getting into the Gardai?

I would say "yes" would be the answer to that question.

Yes it will depend what they were in prison for and who they are associated with. You'll find it a lot harder to join than any of us but its still possible to join.

Well look they will take your good record into account first. They may ask you some tough and personal questions but if you can answer them and their satisfied with those answers anythings possible

If an applicants partner has a prison record it will make it harder to join but if that individual is still suspected of being actively engaged in criminal activity then I would say the chances of a sucessful application are almost nil.
