Should be interesting alright to see it. What makes it even better is that the machine stuck is not able to pull itself. There was a few machines lost in Derrybrien when they did the windmills I think.

There was an article about this in last weeks Journal. If it's the same one.
I'd love to see it. My kinda thing...:D A bit too far North for me though.
Must be a right sickner to have something like this happen to ya.

heard a story about an excuvator sinking when working at the back of the the old food factory in midleton co cork back in 70's. The driver noticed the tracks were starting to sink into a boggy spot and couldnt shift it so decided to go for help. As this was well before mobile phones he wandered back down to the factory to ring for back up. While he was waiting the digger keep sinking a few hours later when help arrived all that was left was a pool of water with the jib sticking out. It was quite close to the railway track so they aperently had to drive a crane up the track to lift it out. The big problem with lifting anything from a bog is the sucion pulling it back down so apperently there was a lot of lads standing around with wavin pipes pushing them into the pool to revive the trapped air.

If only there were video phones in those days...lol

I've seen the digger they're going to try and rescue. If you cruise in the river it's not far from the riverbank.

They'll have their work cut out as its been down for so long it
Must be well grown in through. It looked like there was about 6-8 ft left above ground.

Another issue could be the weather. If it turns out wet on the day it will be worse and it's a pretty isolated spot for spectators if the weather is bad.

Hope it goes well, they'll probably be some you tube footage after the event.
